  1. Could you tell my readers a little bit about yourself?

Hey guys, nice to meet you all! My name is Abbey, I am 21 and I’m an archaeologist and blogger from Oxford, England.  I blog over at Abbeylouisarose, a blog I started about 6 months ago. Thanks so much to Liv for letting me participate in this interview. Lets get started!

2. What inspired you to start blogging?

I actually (completely by random) came across another bloggers Twitter page and clicked on to her blog. It seemed like such a fun and creative experience that I thought “I have got to try it” since then I have never looked back! I adore blogging and its my all time favourite hobby.

3. How has blogging improved/made a positive impact on your life?

I’ve met some amazing people, improved my confidence, and learnt that I am never alone. Sometimes with mental health conditions it feels like nobody understands but in the blogging community, I am surrounded by incredible, inspiring people who are so inclusive and often have gone through exactly what you are experiencing. Knowing this is so comforting.

4. What is your biggest blog achievement?

I have worked with some amazing brands such as Sleek Makeup, All Bar One and the Beauty Booth and it was unbelievable to be contacted by companies like this. I definitely feel a sense of achievement when ever I hit ‘publish’ and also when I receive a comment on my blog. Knowing that people enjoy and engage with my content is such a rewarding feeling!

5. Where do you want to be in 5 years with your blog?

Who knows? I don’t really have any long-term blogging goals. I really just want to continue enjoying blogging for as long as possible and to keep up with all the wonderful friends I have made within the community.

6. What do you find frustrating about blogging?

Sometimes people in the community can be fickle. For example, a blogger who I had supported loads (helped proof read her posts, hosting chats for her, promoting her online services) once un-followed me without a word, and wrote a thinly veiled bitchy tweets about how I ran my blog. This really upset me at first but now I have moved onwards and upwards! Fickle people are everywhere and sometimes you just cant take it personally!

7. Does your blog have a niche?

My blog is hard to fit in to a niche, I blog about everything from baking to DIY’s t travel to lifestyle and advice. My blog niche is just ME. If I find it interesting, you can bed you’ll find it on my blog!

8. Do you blog full-time or part-time?

Part-time. I blog alongside attending university (I’m currently studying for a M.St in classical Archaeology at Oxford Uni) and my job as a tutor.

9. Where do you find inspiration/ideas for your blog posts?

Inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere! It might be something that’s happened in my life, a book I’ve read or a TV show I’ve watched, to something big that happens in the blogging community! With a bit of imagination, you can blog about pretty much anything, so my advice for people lacking in inspiration is just to give anything a go! You never know until you try!

10. How do you drive traffic to your blog?

Twitter, Twitter, Twitter! I’m lucky enough to have a fabulous, engaged following on Twitter, so I schedule tweets using Hootsuite to ensure that this following translates into blog views. I keep up with everyone else’s blogs using Twitter too.

11. How many times a week do you blog?

Twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. If I’m really excited about a post or there’s something that I really want to share, I’ll post more often, but mostly it’s just twice a week.

12. Do you have any bloggers that love and read religiously? If so name them and their blogs.

So many! My long-time favourites are:
They all produce such fab content and they’re all lovely girls too!

Thank you so much to Abbey for letting me interview you!

Interviewing Bloggers: Eleanor May

I was doing my blog post planning recently with my beloved notepad, racking my brains for more blog post ideas. One idea that came to my mind was interviewing other bloggers. I did love this idea as it helps me get to know other bloggers and lets you guys get to know other bloggers too. Plus you may find blogger that you love and they write about the kind of thing you love to read!

I put out on Twitter that I wanted to interview bloggers and now I have a long list of bloggers to interview which is great, the first blogger that replied to my tweet was Eleanor May.

I sat for a long while trying to create the best questions. Hopefully you lot like this little series I have started. Lets get started to see Eleanor’s interview.

1. Could you tell my readers a little bit about yourself?

My name is Eleanor and I am from a little town in Wales UK. I have been blogging for 3 years now and I absolutely love it! I am definitely a body confident enthusiast and I try to show that in my blog. I have a passion for Japanese culture, kawaii things and Disney!

2. What inspired you to start blogging?

I am the type of person who feels the need to share every aspect of my life with the internet. I started to realise that what I wanted to say definitely did fit in to 140 characters on Twitter, so I needed another platform to express myself. That’s why I decided to start blogging. At first I only wrote the occasional post but after I got involved with the blogging community, I started to see how great blogging could be and it turned in to more of a full-time thing.

3. How has blogging improved/made a positive impact on your life?

Blogging has had an impact on my life in so many ways. The main thing that I have noticed is that’s I’m always thinking about blogging. Whenever something happens, one of the first things I think about is whether or not it would make a good blog post.

4. What is your biggest blog achievement?

Honestly, my biggest achievement would be making so many new friends. Making friends isn’t easy so having such a supportive community around me can be a great feeling. The blogging community is like having one big group of friends.

5. Where do you want to in 5 years with your blog?

I want to be in the same place I am but with more knowledge. I am happy writing how I do and I don’t want my hobby of blogging to process into anything further, like a career. I worry that it would just take the fun right out of it! I would however love to learn more things about things such as SEO because I really have no idea about it all.

6. What do you find frustrating about blogging?

It can get frustrating when you have words in your head but they wont come out properly on the screen. This happens to me often and can get so annoying.

7. Does your blog have a niche?

I try to keep my blog personal to me which means that I write about pretty much anything that my brain can think of. That kind of stops me from having a niche.

8. Do you blog full-time or part-time?

I would definitely say its full-time. Its a hobby that has completley taken over my life (in the best way possible).

9. Where do you find inspiration/ideas for your blog posts?

I try to inspiration from things that happen in my life. I look at my days and wonder if there is any way that I can write a blog post about it. For example, I couldn’t sleep one night so I wrote a post about not being able to sleep well.

10. How do you drive traffic to your blog?

Most of my blog traffic now comes from Pinterest which is a surprise to me. I used to get my views from Twitter until I wrote a post about bullet journaling that gets me 300 views a day from Pinterest. Its crazy!

11. How many times a week do you blog?

I upload a blog post twice a week but I’m actually blogging all day, everyday. Whenever I have a spare minute, I am writing a draft or updating an old post. If I’m not doing that, I’m scrolling through social media promoting my blog.

12. Do you have any bloggers that love and read religiously? If so name them and their blogs

I read so many blogs a day and they are all different and great in their own ways. A blog that I recently discovered was Hilary’s blog. The Cutie life (link here). I absolutely love it! It’s so cute and Hilary has a great way of writing.

Thank you so much to Eleanor for letting me interview her!

Thanks for reading as always,

Love from Liv xo

Goals For 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I really hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I really enjoyed my Christmas and new year & had a well deserved rest over the festive period.

This time of year is so controversial as 50% of people hate the new year, don’t make any goals/resolutions and think January sucks. The other 50% get motivated, make goals/resolutions and are determined to make the best of themselves. I am in the 50% that loves this time of year. I love a clean slate and fresh goals. I thought I would share with you in this blog post my goals for 2017. Let me know in the comments what your goals are, I would love to know.

GOALS FOR 2017

♥ Continue to love and grow my blog as much as I can.

♥ Get a good skin care routine in place. You only get one skin!

♥ Travel and visit as many places as I can this year. In this country or out.

♥ Keep the gym up, this is such a cliché goal but I really want to try.

♥ Another cliché one, weight loss. I would just like to feel nice and healthy (also not vomit when I look in the mirror).

♥ Save some pennies. I am so bad at saving but this year I’m going to try my absolute hardest.

♥ Meet more bloggers.

♥ Strive to keep my mental health in a good place. Get back to being the boss of my own brain.

♥ Get the GCSE’s I didn’t get in school. Like Maths!

♥ Sort out my sleeping pattern for good. I am such a night owl it’s not good.

I’m not going to say this is a new me, just a better me. Hopefully haha.

Thanks for reading,

Love from Liv xo
